I've been renovating homes for the past 15+ years as my side passion while working as a marketing leader at various tech companies. My husband and I have netted enough over the course of slow-flipping homes for me to be able to do this for a living. Before I was able purchase my first home in San Francisco, I was a serial room redecorator and DIYer with a love of power tools.

 

Design has always been a passion of mine. When I was out of college, I would get myself in trouble with roommates by making pillow covers out of our bath towels (eek, Pottery Barn sold terry cloth pillows in the 2000s, and I had to make replicas!) I moved to Australia with way too much stuff, and it wasn't long until I was painting my new flatmates' dining room chairs bright yellow. However, when I decided to do this for a living, I realized I needed formal training, so I enrolled in the Uploft Interior Design Academy. I've been able to take that learning and apply it to clients to give them a high-end look in their style, but in a price point they can afford. I have the tools to help you understand the best layout and design selections, and visualize the look in your space so that you feel comfortable moving forward with your design.

 

I approach renovation selections slightly differently than redecorating a room, as there are so many factors to be taken into consideration. How do you want to feel in the house today? How long will you live in the house? When you move on, will you rent it out, or are you focused on resale? What is your budget for selections? What is your style? Since renovation selections can last decades, can affect resale, and are much harder to undo, it's important to make thoughtful decisions that are also cohesive with the decisions that you make throughout your home.
